The Icon Series is a growing number of small canvases all 24 x 18 cm, exploring the impact of influences outside of ourselves, (such as media, society, home) has on our lives. Some are personal battles other broader observations. Many of the works look gestural but all are developed over considerable time, waiting for each set of marks to dry before responding. Some are intense exquisite contained pieces, others develop ideas for larger works.
